A Fine Pair of George II Carved Walnut Side Chairs

English, circa 1745 

The chairs with shaped top rails and carved with scrolls and acanthus over a vase shaped, carved and pierced splat, further adorned with acanthus motifs and terminating in a carved gadrooned shoe.
The seats now upholstered in a soft green antique linen fabric. The chairs stand on carved cabriole legs adorned with cabochons, leaf carving and scrollwork, terminating in carved paw feet.
The chairs retain a gloriously untouched colour and patina throughout.
