The vigorously modelled bases of finely chased rockwork and ‘C' scrolls with spiralling columns of intertwined foliage and serpents, terminating in foliate socles. Now fitted for electricity.

Thomas Abbott was listed as a ‘Lamp Maker’ and ‘Bronze Founder’ in Birmingham. His business was first registered in Park Street in 1818 and subsequently moved to 24 - 25 Moor Street in 1823.

Examples of his work can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
