The oval back with fluted moulding and trailing husks with a central anthemion. The scrolling arms similarly carved with acanthus, joined to the seat rail with a tablet applied with carved paterae. The fluted, serpentine rails over finely carved legs with acanthus leaves.

SHAREDESCRIPTION
The design for these chairs closely relates to a design by John Linnell from 1770 – 1775 now in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Of particular note are the out swept back legs and front legs carved with acanthus along their length. These chairs display numerous similarities to a pair by Linnell supplied to the Earl of Hardwicke for his house in St. James Square.
