ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY

John Eaves lives and works in Bath. He was born in Bristol in 1929 and studied at the Bath Academy of Art from 1949-1952 where his teachers included William Scott and James Tower. Eaves went on to work as a Course Director at the Bath College of Higher Education from 1958-1985 before focusing exclusively on his career as an artist. He has participated in solo and numerous group exhibitions in Germany, England and the US since 1954. Eaves strived to make images of ‘power and poetry’ inspired by rhythms, structures and colours of nature and the landscape. Of these qualities, colour is his principal concern and passion.
