DESCRIPTION

The veneered Siena Toscana marble top over an egg and dart moulding with virtruvian scrolled frieze, 
edged with a flower and ribbon moulding. 

The central cartouche bordered with pierced acanthus, C scrolls and foliage, mirrored to the sides. The two front cabriole legs carved with acanthus and C scrolls, terminating in hairy paw feet. 

The design for this table corresponds closely with a drawing by William Jones shown in ‘The Gentleman or Builders Comparison’, of 1739. (See illustration.)
