 Dame Lucie Rie (1902 – 1995)

 A large oval rim stoneware bowl, the round body squeezed at the rim to form an oval, the exterior with a thick volcanic glaze lightly pitted and with blue and brown flecks, the interior with horizontal bands of heavily pitted volcanic glaze running over each other in places.
